I will always remember the day I encountered Jesus. For a long time, I had been studying and reading different books, trying to make sense of my life. I dove into philosophy, thinking it would help me build a perspective on the world and myself. And while I did learn a lot, the truth is, I didn’t find the answers I was truly looking for.
I had heard about Jesus many times: Jesus, the Son of God; Jesus, the Messiah; Jesus, the Savior; Jesus of Nazareth; Jesus, the Lamb of God… But none of those names or titles made any real sense to me. They were just words—until everything changed.
I remember that day after school when I received an invitation to go to church. I wondered, Why should I go? But deep down, something told me I needed to accept the invitation.
When I walked in, my first thought was, How does the man with the microphone know about my life? Why is he talking about my struggles? For the first time, I felt like someone truly understood me. And the strangest part? I had never met or spoken to that man before. Yet every word he spoke felt like it was directed straight at my heart.
That night, when I got home, I sat in my room and reflected on what had happened. I asked myself: Does God really exist? Can He really hear me? And then, with all sincerity, I asked a question out loud:
"If You are real, I want to hear You. There’s no one else here, just You and me. No music, no audience. Just You and me."
What happened next changed my life forever.
Suddenly, I began to hear His voice. It was something entirely new to me, yet it felt completely real. It was a gentle, tender voice—not just echoing in my mind but piercing deep into my heart. He answered every question I had, and at the end, He said something I will never forget:
"I am here for you. I am here because of you."
From that moment on, everything changed. No one could convince me that Jesus wasn’t real. He wasn’t just a theory, a philosophy, or a mere idea. I lived it. I heard Him. I experienced Him. Alone, with no one else around—just Him and me.
From that day forward, Jesus didn’t appear to me as a distant figure or a religious icon. He wasn’t "Jesus the superstar" or just "Jesus of Nazareth." He was Jesus, the One who is for me. Jesus, the One who came for me. Jesus, the One who saved me.
That encounter stirred a deep hunger within me. I wanted to know Him more. I wanted to go deeper. More questions came: What does it mean to follow Him? Why should I get to know Jesus? Why did He want to meet me?
As I searched for answers, I found YWAM (Youth With A Mission) and joined a DTS (Discipleship Training School). And everything—absolutely everything—changed.
